Adding fractions worksheets
Adding fractions with like denominators is the first fraction operation children learn: 2/8 + 3/8 = 5/8. It clicks once they see that the bottom number names the size of the pieces and only the top number counts them.
Our Fractions pack has 20 printable pages that build up to it in order: comparing fractions, then equivalent fractions, then adding and subtracting with like denominators. Every page has room for a name, date and score, and the full answer key repeats each page with the answers filled in.
It is a PDF on US Letter paper and one of five packs in the 3rd Grade Math Worksheet Bundle.

Tips
- Say it in words: two eighths plus three eighths is five eighths.
- Draw a bar cut into the same number of pieces as the denominator.
- If a child adds the denominators, go back to the picture.
