Halloween arrays worksheets for 2nd grade
An array is a picture with equal rows and columns. Before writing multiplication facts, ask children to count the rows and explain how many objects are in each. A drawing with three rows of four can be counted as 4 + 4 + 4 = 12. Connect it to 3 times 4 only when that notation has been introduced.
The Halloween 2nd-3rd Grade pack includes Halloween arrays within a 20-page progression of regrouping, early multiplication and story problems. Select the array section for this lesson; it is one part of the pack, rather than 20 pages devoted only to arrays. Each practice page has a matching answer-key page.
Try a short October routine: build an array with counters, sketch it, then solve a printed array problem. Turn the same arrangement and discuss why the total stays the same. The separate Skip Counting pack supports counting equal groups, and Multiplication Facts 0-12 offers later fact practice. The Halloween K-5 bundle includes this pack plus the K-1 and 4th-5th grade packs.

The pack is a US Letter PDF (A4 works with fit to page): 20 practice pages, a 20-page answer key, a how-to page with tips for parents and teachers, a color-in progress tracker and a cover page. Download it right after checkout and print as many copies as you need for your family or one classroom.
Tips
- Check that each row has the same number before counting the total.
- For three rows of four, point to one row for each 4 in 4 + 4 + 4.
- Use a small array first; increase its size after the child can explain the structure.
