Subscription tracker spreadsheet

Small subscriptions are easy to forget, and their yearly total is often surprising. Listing them all in one place is the first step to cutting the ones you do not use.

In the Subscription Tracker you list each subscription with its cost and billing cycle (weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly). It converts each to a monthly and yearly cost, rolls renewal dates forward on its own, flags renewals coming soon and free trials about to end, and adds up how much you would save by cancelling. The dashboard shows cost by category and your top 5 most expensive subscriptions.

Works in Excel and Google Sheets.

What you get

You get two files, a blank template and a filled-in example, plus a Start Here guide. Open them in Microsoft Excel, or upload them to Google Drive and open them with Google Sheets (free). You type in the input cells; the formulas, totals and charts update themselves.

Tips

• Check bank and card statements for anything you've forgotten.
• Put free trials in with their end date.
• Review the cancel list once a quarter.
