Net worth tracker spreadsheet

Net worth is everything you own minus everything you owe. Tracking it monthly shows whether your overall finances are moving in the right direction, even when individual months are messy.

In the Net Worth Tracker you list your accounts once and type each balance once a month. It adds up assets and debts, calculates net worth and charts it over 24 months. The dashboard shows change versus last month and last year and your debt-to-asset ratio, with a breakdown by category (cash, investments, retirement, property, loans, credit cards; categories are editable).

Works in Excel and Google Sheets.

What you get

You get two files, a blank template and a filled-in example, plus a Start Here guide. Open them in Microsoft Excel, or upload them to Google Drive and open them with Google Sheets (free). You type in the input cells; the formulas, totals and charts update themselves.
